If you haven’t seen Miniature Curiosa, you don’t know what you’re missing. The last three shows of An Excruciatingly Ordinary Toy Show will be performed Friday, April 10, Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, at 8:30pm in the 1906 S. Flores building. You can buy tickets here.
Miniature Curiosa performs a unique style of puppet theatre, using very small sets and characters, then using a handheld video camera to project the performance on a video screen. However, this description hardly does justice to the performance. It’s just one of those things you have to see for yourself….
Zach Dorn of Miniature Curiosa won two awards from the Artist Foundation of San Antonio: The Alan Beckstead Award for Original Production, and the Tobin Grand Prize for Artistic Excellence. The Jim Henson Foundation also provided grant funding for this show.
