San Antonio is a great town for art. There also isn’t a tremendous amount of pretense about how that art is presented, and that’s one of the great things about our city. Art is an organic, egalitarian presence in our lives. Across cultures, across economics, across whatever barriers we humans foolishly throw out there. There are a wealth of creatives putting their mark on this city. Wisely, the movers and shakers do make an effort to incorporate art into our everyday existence. All you have to do is look around, open yourself up to the possible, and dive in.
That’s what this blog is about. The subjective point of view of two people experiencing art and life in San Antonio, Texas. Whether it be 2-D, 3-D, paint, ceramic, fiber, wood, metal, film, music, theater, dance, or light. A museum exhibition, a gallery opening, an artwalk in the ‘hood, a happening, throw-down, or fandango. We are in this to share the experience.
Quotation by artist Robert Motherwell (1915-1991):
“Art is much less important than life, but what a poor life without it.”
Just kinda says it all, right?
